Mindfulness at school
At this time, many nations around the world have already adopted mindfulness in their official educational program, in countries such as the USA, Holland, Finland, Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia , India ...
These countries are now introducing benevolent practices into school curricula after having experimented with them and they acknowledged results that have been scientifically validated by numerous studies. In Europe and especially in France, more and more schools are gradually opening their doors to teaching mindfulness to children thanks to the support of teachers and principals. |
Of these, 28 kindergarten and primary schools in the 9th and 13th Parisian districts have benefited for three years, a training for teachers is proposed in the Academies of Creteil and Paris, and about sixty middle schools of Essone are currently subject of scientific experimentation.
Since the start of the 2019 school year, La Rochelle has been the first European city to offer an introductory meditation program to all 5,000 children who attend school. Gaëlle Chetelat, a neuroscientist who specializes in meditation, recalls that meditation "will improve the intentional and regulating abilities of emotions".
Thousands of initiatives flourish that are not always named or recognized and yet distill into our children's classes mindfulness tools.
The Dutch author of a method and the book "Calm and attentive as a frog" Eline Snel, the psychologist Jeanne Siaud Facchin and Christophe André, psychiatrist at the hospital Sainte-Anne participate with enthusiasm in the development of mindfulness in our country.

How do I teach ?
Mindfulness is taught in the classroom during a progressive program of 16 20-minute sessions twice a week -based on Mindful Schools curriculum.
These sessions can also be delivered in private lessons or in groups once a week. Each session lasts approximately 1 hour and addresses a specific theme: breathing, the body, 5 senses, thoughts, emotions, kindness ... theme worked differently according to age groups (from 5 to 18 years).
The intervention of the instructor trained in mindfulness is done in an exchange of trust and kindness with the student (s).
I also organize children/parents workshops.

My approach
Every child and every session are unique. I began my teaching practice with individual sessions, then with small groups of children and adolescents, some of them with behavioral disorders or mental disabilities. These children taught me a lot and enriched my training with the understanding that offering my full presence was just as important as bringing my knowledge. For me, it is always an exchange where everyone is free to share their vulnerability, theirs as much as mine, and it is an area of authenticity that is very liberating for children. |

He is agitated or rather dreamy?
Your child is shy and does not dare to speak?
He/she feels stressed?
He/she can not handle his/her emotions?
He/she sometimes has trouble getting to sleep?
